Resident Safety Professional
In order to overcome serious
gaps in environmental, health, and safety programming resulting
from corporate down-sizing, OSEA developed the Resident Safety
Professional (RSP) program.
The RSP Program
is a unique arrangement to provide Industrial,
Manufacturing and Construction clients
with qualified and experienced OSEA consultants, on a contract
basis, to serve as resident experts on safety and/or
environmental affairs.
OSEA’s RSP program is superior to other staffing programs
because, upon placement, the RSP is supported by an extensive
staff of professionals in 3 Regional Offices that act as
a corporate regulatory affairs department for the client. A
wide range of safety and health training curriculums, agendas,
and multi-media support allowing immediate initiation of
programming provides the client with broad technical and
regulatory expertise.
Other unique features of OSEA’s
RSP Program are the following:
- A thorough selection and approval process to identify,
meet, and exceed client staffing needs.
- Flexible contract periods ranging from 3 months to 2
years.
- OSEA’s established Administrative System to handle
Human Resource functions such as direct billing, payroll & direct
deposit, federal and state taxes, and insurance coverages.
The RSP program provides a single
expert resource to assure a client’s compliance with
local, state and federal regulations, and more importantly,
to protect employees and financial resources.
With an OSEA Resident Safety Professional,
you gain a staff professional supported by a corporate
safety department. The RSP program offers you flexibility
and depth of service. Using
programs, guidance, technical assistance and human resources
support supplied by the OSEA Corporate office, the RSP will
be able to effectively manage the day-to-day EHS activities
of your organization.
OSEA has placed both intermediate
and long-term resident professionals to support and maintain
EH&S programs a number of facilities
in the U.S. and overseas. The following is a list of
companies/projects that have utilized OSEA’s RSP program.

The RSP program provides a single expert

OSEA has placed both intermediate and long-term
resident professionals to support and maintain EH&S programs a number of facilities in the
U.S. and overseas. The following is a list of companies/projects that have
utilized OSEA’s RSP program.
A typical RSP program will begin with a comprehensive audit of the following
items:
- Facility/ Site operations
- Work practices
- Safety programs
- Job hazard analysis (JHA’s)
- Safety committee activities
- Accident and workers’ compensation costs
- Training initiatives
- OSHA Accident/Injury logs
- Safety incentive program
- Incident Investigations
After the above tasks are completed, an action plan will be developed
to correct identified deficiencies, develop an active safety program, and
assure compliance with Federal and State regulations. Correcting deficiencies
will be done through this task based plan with recommended activities such
as the development of :
- A thorough written safety program
- Site specific training matrix and programs to support your training
needs
- On-site safety training, including Supervisor Training
- More thorough incident investigations
- Regular safety audits
- Safety incentive program
- Tracking of related accident and workers’ compensation costs,
etc.
This action plan will be designed to achieve compliance, reduce accidents
and injuries, improve safety programming, decrease COGS, increase ROI and
turn your Safety Department into a Profit Center.
With an OSEA Resident Safety Professional (RSP), you can gain a staff
professional supported by a corporate safety department. The RSP program
offers you flexibility and depth of service. The RSP will essentially be
your individual to manage on a day-to-day basis with OSEA providing all
the necessary technical and human resources support for the position.
Quite simply, this program provides the resources that no single person
can offer and has become the solution to gaps created by corporate downsizing!
If this concept interests you, we know we can also make it
economically feasible.
