"Approximately
4,000 Americans die at work each year. Safety is measured not in lost workdays but in the smile of a child when a father returns home safely from the job site." |

Safety Services Basic safety practices lead to a sound construction or general industry safety program. The requirements of an individual company’s safety program will vary according to its type of operation, size, equipment and processes, geographic location, and climate. Hazards may vary by type of industry and between companies in the same industry because no two companies have identical design and layout. OSEA consultants are experts in understanding the operations and culture of a company, and how to best to assist in implementing a results’ orientated safety program. OSEA has proven that implementation of site or facility specific safety programs can dramatically impact the safety culture of an organization and positively affect an organizations’ safety record. Those involved in construction activities have a direct stake in improving on-site safety performance. Doing so will lessen the need for burdensome government regulations and improve loss control. Accidents affect industry production and may also affect project schedule. Therefore, beyond the sincere commitment and legal requirements to provide a safe and healthful work environment, a powerful economic incentive to reduce accidents also exists. Our most successful programs involve a direct presence on job sites to assist with programming and maintenance of the safety culture sought by the client. From audits (which are solution oriented, not just checklists) to engineering resolution of problems, our consultants become part of your management staff. OSEA also places our safety and environmental specialists on short and long term projects to supervise, design and maintain programming and respond to daily job site demands, including new employee orientation, industrial hygiene monitoring and training (see Resident Safety Professional). OSEA prides itself on its ability
to work effectively from the board room on through the
construction or manufacturing site. Being able to effectively
communicate technical information and program suggestions
is critical to its understanding and impact on program
success and implementation where the work is performed.
Communication being the key, OSEA formulated its unique
and effective Safety Services Report format allowing immediate
communication with on-site representative and later formal
communication of not only the items found warranting correction
but also the solutions provided and completed.
