How can you participate in the National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction?

May 7-11, 2018

*A Safety Stand-Down can take place over the course of Safety Stand-Down week or for a short period of time during that week to take a break and make note of the fall hazards and fall prevention.

Why? – Falls are the Leading cause of Death in Construction

2015 Recorded 350 Fatal Falls in Construction

Over 1/3rd of fatal falls were from 15 Feet or Less

Nearly ¼ of the falls are from ladders

How can you help to prevent falls from heights?

  • Make sure you are using proper fall protection for the job
  • Make sure you are properly trained on the use of your fall and fall arrest systems
  • Consistently use three points of contact when climbing a ladder (two hands and one foot or two feet and one hand)
  • Only place a ladder on a solid surface

*For a Toolbox Talk on Fall protection you can use and or distribute to your team contact OSEA @ training@osea.com
